My sister recently commented on all of the love that lemon and lime receive, while grapefruit never seems to get the lead in anything. That got me thinking.

Citrus Puffs
It’s that time of year. When food blogs burst at the seams with recipes using all manner of citrus, especially Meyer lemons. I have my own uses for them (check out this wicked vinaigrette, or this lovely candied peel and simple syrup, perfect for cocktails, or this divine bundt cake, which doesn’t specifically call for Meyer lemons, but would be fabulous with them).
Cranberry Clementine Marmalade
I’m not a fan of buying stuff for the sake of stuff. Gifts, no matter how small, need to have meaning. So when I got word that we were doing an exchange at a party we’re going to ($5 or less), I knew I was going to make something.
Lemon Iced Tea
We have at last put the bone chilling cold behind us and have tasted summer. That may sound dramatic, but it really was the winter that would.not.end in Southern Ontario (and many other areas, going by the teeth chattering heard around Twitter). Glazed Lemon Bundt Cake with Lemon Sauce
Eat all the lemons!

As it was, this cake, with it’s glaze and sauce, packed a lemony punch all on it’s own. Continue reading
Maple Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette
Meyer Lemon Season
It’s that time of year again. Meyer lemons are everywhere. Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter… Oh, and in grocery stores. Thought to be a cross between a lemon and possibly a Mandarin orange, Meyer lemons are a delight. They are less tart than their pure counterparts, and have a delightful floral quality that brings so much to dishes that they’re used in. Continue reading
Old Fashioned Limeade
Feelin’ hot hot hot
Wow, has the heat arrived. And it’s unwelcome cousin, humidity. We had quite a storm the other night, complete with copious amounts of rain, so our gardens are happy. I actually harvested a few radishes already. That made my daughter happy. And we turned on the air conditioning last night. That made us all happy. Continue reading
